East Fork Trail

Distance 7 Miles One Way
Elevation 8200’ to 9300’
Difficulty Moderate
Usage Hiking, Biking, Horseback Riding
Directions The trail begins near the end of Main Street in Greer.

This trail begins with adventure as hikers cunningly choose their steps across the West Fork of the Little
Colorado River. The trail wastes no time darting up the steep slope of Amberon Point, challenging hikers to
the reach the top before leveling out into a more gradual slope for the duration of the hike. Traveling this path, the landscape transforms as the dense spruce and fir eventually give way to an open meadow as it intersects with the East fork of the Little Colorado River. Hikers may encounter elk and waterfowl as they weave past the marshy lands of this meadow. Continuing between the forest’s edge and the East Fork of the Little Colorado River, the the trail ends where it meets Rt. 273.
